I believe sci-fi is our safest way to talk about real-world human rights. What do you think?

My inspiration for writing HyperParanoid came about 8 years ago, when I imagined a powerful AI had been unleashed. I sensed it surveilling human activity. I imagined complete totalitarian control of our civilization was imminent. I extrapolated forward to see what it would feel like to live in such a society. What could one do to retain personal agency? I created LC, a hybrid human/AI character because in such a society, we will need interlocutors to interface between the ETs, AI, and humanity.
