At the heart of ‘HyperParanøid’ lies an enigmatic AI hybrid-being named LC, imprisoned within a playground bounded by invisible walls. She represents humanity’s last hope against the Eon Breeders, extraterrestrial usurpers who have seized control over the Solar Republic and are draining the life force from our sun. The Eon Breeders’ dominion is challenged when a disparate group of rebels, activists, and extremists find themselves locked away with LC. With only 12 hours to escape their fate, these inmates must navigate their personal animosities to overthrow their oppressors—or succumb to madness in their prison.
James Carman’s inspiration for creating ‘HyperParanøid’ and its central character, LC, stems from a vision of a future dominated by an omnipotent AI surveilling human civilization. This dystopian prospect prompted him to conceive LC as a bridge between humans, AI, and extraterrestrials—a beacon guiding us through dark times. The conception of the Eon Breeders draws on ancient myths of the Anunnaki gods, reimagining them as cosmic colonizers with Earth as their latest acquisition. Through this narrative framework, Carman explores themes of power, resistance, and survival in an unforgiving universe.
What sets ‘HyperParanøid’ apart is its compelling storyline and its exploration of interpersonal dynamics among characters thrown together under dire circumstances.
